Seadragon Developer: Creating Content
Before you get started developing your applications, you'll first need to create a Seadragon image or collection. This section goes over Seadragon file formats, how to create them on your own, and how to deploy them.
Overview/File Formats
Learn a little more about the Seadragon philosophy and the back-end technology that makes the Seadragon experience. This section discusses the types of Seadragon images, how we load high resolution images over any network speed using image tile pyramids, and some general background on image file formats. This is a great primer before you jump into creating your own Seadragon images.
Deep Zoom Composer
Deep Zoom Composer is a free tool that allows you to import your source images, graphically arrange them into a composition, and export them into a Seadragon image or collection for use with either Seadragon Ajax or Silverlight Deep Zoom. This section goes over the process step by step.
Deep Zoom Tools
Also installed as part of Deep Zoom Composer, the Deep Zoom Tools free standalone library enables you to incorporate Seadragon content creation into your own custom processes. This library comes with two sample applications, DZConvert and DZCollection, that help you create Seadragon images or collections from the command line.
Deployment
Now that you've created your Seadragon image, this section discusses deploying your content to your server and tips for speeding things up by reducing your data.
